-I-

The Spirit is realized in its motion both through a human personality and a community. The highest type of the community is a Nation. The Nation is not similar to a crowd. The Nation is an integrated personality for which a human is just a moment. The Nation, as a personality, has its own consciousness, will-power, face and way.

The constraction of the integrated personality qualitatively enhances a level of a human, and gives a human sense of being, inducement and possibilities of realization. Thus for a human the free will follows from a spiritual side of a human nature and is a one of the fun­ctions of a human consciousness. The National personality is over-consciousness for a human; therefore its will is a freedom for a human. The Freedom and the possibility of realization of a human depend directly on the quality of the National personality.

Together with the Nation you can accomplish great deeds. Perhaps, they may turn to great mistakes. But there is more sense in great mistakes than in trifling everyday truths.

Through the Nation and integration of yourself into the over-personality you can reach the most powerful spiritual impulse, whenever it has been directing to.

Absolute, to which the impulse aims for, is an inducement of this impulse, and therefore is a reason and moment of a Nation’s development. It is the God’s will that prompts you to join the Nation’s development.

The attitude of the integrated personality towards God is on a qualita­tively higher level than the human’s one.

The Nation’s subject influences upon and in a human consciousness; thus your consciousness percepts God and He in­fluences you meditatively (through the Nation). The integrated personality is between you and God. Its vision of God is your vision.

The natural difference of human inclinations finds its expression in a complicacy and hierarchy of a Nation’s structure. The suitable hierarchy provides for instantaneity, resistance and potential of development of the Nation. It also is one of the Nation’s integral features. The leading place in the hierarchy is occupied by a group, whose object  of activity is the Nation by itself.

The decay of the hierarchy means the decay of the Nation - a herd condition that enables outside factors to dictate its interests to the masses. Elimination of the hierarchy means for the masses either a rule of outside power or dictatorship of dirt of their own.

A hundred years of humiliation and defeats have changed the physiological type of Ukrainian Natіon. Nowadays, determined features of Ukrainian spirit are provincialism and inferiority; basic creative method in all aspects of activity is an imitation of foreign models. Shattering blows were made on the whole base of the national being. Under such conditions a work for preservation seems to be hopeless.

The only ways to survive are rejection of restoration and beginning of intensive national construction; refusal of defense but change to advance.

This construction and advance should be based on a newly realized and newly
formulated ideal.

For a long time the national ideal and national dream were con­fined itself on an idea of independence.

But independence is just a moment in development of the Nation, who can achieve the maximum in all spheres of Spirit and in all spheres of activity.

We must realize that we should be satisfied with such Ukraine that is first in policy, economy, science and culture.

We cannot rely on gradual and natural running of the national process in Ukraine. Our country was brought to abyss by the artificial methods and only artificially, by conscious efforts it could be raised out of there. The Nation’s constructing process is conscious and artificial.

This aim explains a special role for nationalism that it has to obtain in all spheres of social and state being.

The Nationalism is a powerful creative moment in the cause of the Nation’s development. The conception of the nationalism is filling for us with a new substance: firstly – realization of the national ideal and the national task; secondary – organized efforts for execution of this task, for achievement of this ideal.

There is no self-realization, nor reflection, or hierarchy. The Nation is in ruin, and we start to reconstruct It again. This is a hard work and long war, and the defeat is more probable then the victory. The others are proposing their abilities, presenting attractive ways.

The creation and perception of a new essence, that is the Nation’s development, require a great efforts, risk, and self-sacrifice; while the passivity and submission to a foreign are easy and pleasant.

Logic of nowadays objective reality defeats a nationalism of weak and defective nations. This is the logic of economical integration, the logic of mass culture, the logic of power of several nations, which doesn`t tolerate another power beside itself.

Nationalism is саling the herd to a shinning peak that cannot be seen behind clouds. You have to climb up, injuring your hands, shedding sweat and blood of yours and aliens. But ordinary leaders drive the herd to a valley full of bright green grass, where you can reach easily. They will take care of the herd, shear it neatly, but in a fixed moment lead it to shambles. The herd will go to shambles, if Nationalism proposes it only ideals. Between shambles and ideals the herd will choose shambles.

Nationalism comes out in three roles – as an instinct, as a theory and as an organized movement.

To be a nationalist, i.e to step stepping the way of the Nation’s development, means to oppose yourself to everybody and everything. It means to start a struggle with the whole world. They will never forgive you that. In the times of total mean­ness Nationalism brings up an aristocracy. The all-world meanness will rise against, won`t it?

Nationalism and dark powers are fighting in this world. Nationalism causes progress. The enemy causes meanness, entropy of mixing, disasters because of unexpectedness, materialism, and losing sense of life. Nationalism gives a new sense of life. Without it there will be disappointment, prostration and illness.

Nowadays everybody talks about democracy. So does both opposition and government. It causes alertness. Civic liberties and prosperity are confined topics of a serious political debate and mass media programs; politicians appeal with these topics to population. The national problem is present, but it is treated as a general cultural problem.

 

We know that a civic liberty can be achieved under a certain cultural level. If all policemen were slaughtered, the liberty would not appear automatically. Everybody understands it. Totalitarianism is in our heads. Preservation of the civic liberties is possible only under the condi­tion of a high level of social self-organization Firstly, the condition of its organization into Nation. Only a certain level of the Nation’s development gives a possibility to realize a real freedom for a person. The higher level of national self-consciousness the Nation has, the more freedom and prosperity would be possessed.

At the modern level of the world`s development an effective realization for nation’s outsider it is almost impossible. This person is a defective personality; its freedom and liberty are fictions and prosperity of its society is pitiful.

From this point of view the discussions about democracy without solving national problem has an air of demagogy.

In general, anarchists and democrats of all kinds look unfavorably at Nationalism and national movement. The "National democrats" are more democrats, than "national"; even those for whom Bandera and Shukhevych are already heroes, but not bandits, hurry to dis­sociate themselves from Nationalism.

Black dictatorship and the total terror are waiting for them, if Nationalism doesn’t win. Until the society of Great Ukraine is denationalized any democracy is impossible here.

Fairly, our internationalists, who operate with democratic slogans, are working against the nation and democracy, be­cause they created in the society an illusion that democracy can be achieved without labor over construction of Nation. They reduce our society into a marsh with swampy lights. We have to understand the task as a task of the Nation’s development. All political moments and work of all political factors should be examined only from the point of this task.

Since ancient times there are a lot of powers in the world interested in exploitation of Ukrainian recourses. On the one hand, it is the export of intellect and raw materials (i.e. an export of Nation’s future); on the other hand, a transportation of harmful factories and productions to Ukrainian territory. It will be not only an economical blow upon Ukraine, but an awful physical one that will break it totally.

Denationalized masses are ready to sell themselves even for small money, but "greenbacks". Our crude democracy would never be able to resist to this exploitation and recreation of Ukraine from "all-Soviet" sinecure into all-European wet nurse; resist to the work of the terrible powers, which has a rich experience and incredible money.

Democracy is luxury for the mighties and death for the weaks. "Virgin is those, who was never desired" said Romans; they really knew the meaning of ^“DESIRE" and they knew the price of democratic virg­inity.

There is only one thing able to resist to that process.  It was the only that resisted to russification and colonization, collaboration of democrats and socialists, iron German columns and terrible Russian invasion; the only light born by Ukraine in the 20 century. It is the proud of Nation – Ukrainian nationalism.

In all countries only Nationalism in organized forms can resist to foreign pressure. Democracy sells things; Nationalism buys things or takes it for free when it is out of money.

The future of Ukraine can be glanced through in a several possible variants:

Non – Bolshevik dictatorship,

Dictatorship of foreign powers,

Local lout dictatorship

or

Nationalism in organized forms.

Only Nationalism has a possibility to give this country a powerful impulse to the future and provide a long preservation of civic liberties.

Construction means creation of the hierarchy.

We are dealing with complicated material. It is not a folk.  It is not Ukraine. It is a recollection about Ukraine. A Meditation. Those who keeps more in his mind and who intensively goes through this recollection has a right for the territory from Don to Dnister Rivers.

Cherish nostalgia of impossibility to integrate into modernity. Create the modernity in yourself. You are the Nation. You and someone of your kind – you both are the State.

Recognize each other by the way of being. The spiritual impulse is the way of your being. You are nationalists. God wants you to win. The task of Nationalism is a cherishing of an exponent of nationality.

As you are called nationalist, you must be the first in everything. You have to stand out from the crowd for dignity, noble bearing, generosity, intellect, resoluteness whenever you arе: at the work, at home, on barricade, or in prison.

For the herd a strong idea is an idea based on strength. You must be strong. You should draw delight and fear in eyes of ordinaries.

– Do you promise to drown this country in luxury? You, who have only 3 gryvnia’s in your pocket, came to teach us, arriving here by bus, but not "Mercedes” – they’ll say to you and they`ll be right.

Those times, when the organization could take a venture to fulfill just political task, are over. Nowadays this organization has to be an alive embodiment of Nation’s idea –  to be "bright, exclusive, and universal". It should fight for the victory in all spheres of live: in policy, in economy, in military affairs… A good organization is an organization, whose member is organized through the organization. The organization is defending you. Your state is the organiza­tion.

Under nowadays geopolitical circumstances the raise of Ukrainian nation and powerful state is unfavorable for every­body. Someday it may happen that it will be useless even for national-democratic powers. It will be useless for everybody, but nationalists. As since Bohdan and Iwan, as since Simon and Stepan one Ukrainian national truth has been remaining: we can rely only on ourselves.

Your first thought, when you wake up, should be: Ukraine and I too are in a deep mud for a long time. Your last thought, before going to sleep, sho­uld be: Ukraine must become the heart of the world. The grandeur will be its feature and the feature of mine too.

The world has been changed; the expansion in the old meaning of this word is unjustified. No be expansion but inspansion: the prevalence thanks to qualitative change of own Nation. Nowadays power, impor­tance and strength of Nation are determined not by "how much it was conquered", but by "what was given to the world” – how many ideas, new technologies, music, own views on life, how much Spirit of Nation were brought into the world. Just by that the world is dictated. But "don’t forget the sword. Let`s learn to hold it more firmly in our hands".

We must be the best, in order to be the strongest. The more Nation brings in to the world, the more world belongs to Nation. There is no doubt that the next century will be the century of Nationalism. The mat­ter is that this new-coming century has to be the century of the Ukrainian Nationalism.

You are badly educated, you are scared, you are weak and poor, and boredom is the way of your life. But suddenly Spirit of Nation is touching your brow. Your soul is striving for an explosion. Explode! The ordinariness is already dead for you. Now there are only God and Ukraine.
